Writing historical fiction is akin to “exhuming the bodies” and can be a daunting task even for the most experienced writers. It can prove difficult to retrace the events of the past especially when they are not well-documented as history has been shown to be unreliable in such instances. In this masterclass, the Booker-shortlisted author of critically acclaimed novels The Shadow King and Beneath the Lion’s Gaze will ease us into the process of writing a story that takes place around historical events. The masterclass will cover the research needed to write the novel and the kind of world-building that’s necessary in any historical novel.

Anyone with an interest in historical fiction or in the process of researching a novel can join this masterclass. To apply for this masterclass, click on the JOIN THIS MASTERCLASS button above. The deadline is 23rd October 2021.
