The Lolwe Academy Programme is a year-long intensive course for writers looking to deepen their craft, develop substantial work and build a sustained writing practice. Led by leading writers and editors, each Programme includes ten craft masterclasses, two to three small-group workshops, one-to-one sessions with tutors, access to recordings and curated resources, and membership of the Lolwe Academy alumni community.
Designed as a sustained period of literary development, the Programme combines practical instruction, close feedback and ongoing support to help participants strengthen their writing and develop work with greater confidence and ambition. Participants who complete the Programme will receive a Certificate of Completion, and selected work developed during the year will be published by Lolwe and included in an annual Lolwe Academy anthology.

Learn with leading writers and editors
Across the year, you’ll learn from an international faculty of writers and editors working across fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Each masterclass focuses on a core aspect of craft, while the workshops give you the space to apply what you’ve learned, receive feedback and develop your work in depth.
Beyond the Programme
Your relationship with Lolwe continues after the Programme ends. Graduates join the Lolwe Academy alumni community, with access to selected publishing opportunities, industry guidance, alumni resources and an exclusive route to submit work to Lolwe throughout the year. We also celebrate alumni publications and support alumni pursuing opportunities including fellowships, residencies and postgraduate study.
